Autocite

What is Autocite?

Autocite is an API service that helps millions of users of websites like yours create accurate citations quickly and easily for inclusion in research papers.

How does it work?

When a user on EasyBib.com requests that we search a website for data to include in their citation, only then do we access that site to extract metadata for relevant citation information. The metadata may be extracted from the website’s HTML page, or in some cases via an API provided by the website’s publisher.

Why should I allow it on my site?

Autocite helps us connect students from around the world to the content and tools needed to succeed throughout their studies. It also helps to ensure that the content on your site is credited appropriately when referenced.

How can I make this better for my users?

To make the citation process easier for your users, consider adding the tags in the template below:

<script type=”application/ld+json”>

{

“@context” : “http://schema.org”,

“@type”    : “WebPage”,

“name”     : “INSERT NAME OF INDIVIDUAL PAGE”,

“author”   : {

“@type”  : “Person”,

“name”   : “INSERT AUTHOR NAME”

},

“publisher”: “INSERT PUBLISHER NAME”,

“datePublished” : “INSERT DATE IN ISO 8601 FORMAT : YYYY-MM-DD”,

“isPartOf” : {

“@type”  : “WebSite”,

“name”   : “INSERT NAME OF WHOLE WEBSITE”

}

</script>
